Well, I finnaly got to go to the track today. I only got 2 passes in before I had to leave. My 2 runs got me a 13.81@100mph with a 2.2 60ft, and a 14.0@104mph with a 2.560ft. Man do I need a set of tires for this thing, it almost got sideways the second run! I'm thinking about the mickey thompson drag radials, are they any good?

When did you go?
I got some buddies that all love the M/T DRs.

Nice times. Could you put up some specs of your combo to help us gauge comparisons?
Sticky tires will definitly gain you some major et. The first few times you hook up on em will be pretty memorable. My first few times with slicks and 5000 rpm launches made it hard to keep my head looking down the track. Makes you realize how people can crack the floor pans.

Have you built the rearend? What gears do you have? I'm only asking because when I first built my car, I didn't do the rearend. Because of this, my 3.45 ring and pinioned 7.5 would only produce 13.30's @ 103 (leaving at idle.)
After building the rearend with 4.30's, upper/lower control arms and MT ET Streets, I now run in the 12's (with a best of 12.42 @ 109.) Of course, I now leave at 5,000-5,500 rpms. 8)
Tires will definitely help!

Your saying that you picked up 6 mph with no changes to the engine?

Yup. Without any other changes except the rearend pieces, I gained that much time and speed. With the original rear end and 3.45 gears on my B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's, I could only leave the line off idle. Even then, I would spin the tires. My 60' times were in the 2.0-2.3 bracket and my 1/8th mile times were in the 8.3-8.4 range.
Once I did the gears, upper/lower control arms and ET Streets, I could leave at 5,000-5,500 rpms and cut 1.64-1.77 60' times and 7.90 1/8th mile times. I get zero tire spin now.

The only thing I've done to the rear end is a set of 3.73 gears and replaced the traction lok clutches. It was just real hard to get it not to spin on the street tires.
