Well as most of you know I picked up this sweet GPIV a couple of weeks ago. I have been able to get the car washed and start looking into what all it needs. First thing I did was pull the stock 10-holes wheels and tires. Wheels have horrible oxidation to the clear coat and the tires were dryrouted... I installed some Mesh wheels and called it good, for know. I am going to try and keep the car as much unrestored as possible. I hope to was it out in a couple of weeks to see what paint I can save, and what parts of it will nee repainted, ur at least touched up. I will have to replace the hatch and do some minor 1/4 panel repair. I am also going to try and retrain as much of the stock graphics as possible. Interior will remain untouched. Drivetrain... wil need a good tune up and all fluids changed. Brakes and suspension will also remain stock, except for leaking rear brake line. Here's some updated pics...

Man, i am Jealous. I remember seeing a silver one when I went to watch the practice runs in Detroit in 1985. If it were my car i would do a full blown resto on it. Are the graphics painted on, or decals? either way I would take some good measurements and have them redone. You can get custom vinyl decals pretty cheap these days. Good luck with it!

Wow, thats a nice find.

The graphics can be had for something like $300 from the original company. Go over to the asc board, the head of the Motorsport Capri registry went to the original graphics company and they still have them all.

If it were me, I would grab a set while they are still available.

With only 30 made, it is good to see another one being looked after.

What is available today may not be tomorrow.

I have "waited" many times to buy this NOS piece or that NOS piece only to find it discontinued a month or two before....

Honestly, if you were thinking about repainting the outside of the car at any point, I would grab a set of decalse and store them safely away. $280 seems cheap for a big ass set of those decals.

Looking at the car, you might not get away without repainting it.

BTW, you can have them install the graphics. I would recommend that when/if you paint the car and put the new graphics on it.

Frank, are there specific part #'s for these pcs.? I think I'd liked to have a set of the Motorsport ones, not sure on the windshield decal yet.
