Well, I got a couple more projects out of the way.

First was to install the subframe connectors

They are 1"x2"x.120" wall units I made up. They also have the crossbars under the seats as well.

Next was to replace the instrument cluster with one with gauges. I was originally going to use my 79 turbo cluster, BUT I think I screwed it up. I had the wiring mixed up (crossed up a switched power and ground wire to the tach...and killed it:oops: ) Also, a couple of the studs on the H2O temp and oil pressure gauges had gotten stuck on the nuts..and spun. When they do that they pull the wires internally...soooooo.... I had an 84-84 cluster from somewhere so I swapped all the gauses into it and fired it up. Why not just use the whole cluster? Well, I didn't want to mess with the ammeter garbage, so I had modded the other cluster for an alt warn light like the original...and didn't want to do it again. SO I swapped the senders on the engine and swapped in this cluster and viola...working gauges...you can see the alt warn light on in the pic.

I also went ahead and swapped the full faschia I had. The car will be 2.3T eventually.

I'd like to get another turbo cluster for a more "period correct" look, but I like the speedo in this one ;).....so I'm conflicted...... :P

Looks great man!

I like the look of a 83-86 speedo...a 140mph would look great in there... then eventually a 7K tach.

Though... I seem to remember a I6 being under the hood so the 7K tach would have to wait for a V8.

There's an I-6 for now, but a 2.3T will be going in in the future. I may need to look into a different tach as well though.

All the gauges work for now, so I guess it'll do. I need to do something about that crappy carpet soon....yuck

Looks good Chuck.

I love the Tan interior. The tan interior has really started to grow on me ever since I got the Saleen.

In that case..... an 8K tach.... ;)

Yeah...the turbo tach was an 8K-er....but I killed it :(

I'll have to dig around later when I get the swap done.

I need to swap out that ratty steering wheel for another one of those I just picked up. I'm going to swap back to the correct steering columnm when I put in the manual as well (this is an 83 column, and the T-Bird wheels are all I have that fit that right now) so I can use the steering wheel I bought for it....
