I have a set of front seats from a `85 LX. My question is. A friend of mine wants to put them in his street rod. What is a good asking price for them ? Would they be more marketable to a guy with a LX ? There isn't any worn spots, holes, or cigarette smell. If you need to see them, PM me your address and I'll try to get some pics available. Thanks
I'd say keep them in the LTD LX family... they're not easy to find in good condition.
Your friend is better off looking for a good set of used Mustang LX seats.

They're not that special really. They're just like any other LTD seat except for the upholstery pattern and pump up lumbar support.
BTW Mars I found a mostly complete LTD LX in the junkyard down here. Hard hit in the passenger door. Pretty sad that there was nothing on the car that I needed.

What was left though?
Grab the center console (if it's still there)! It also wouldn't hurt to get the instrument cluster as well... Cause... you never know when you'd need a tach. As well as the LTD LX badges.
Also regarding the seats... The upholstery pattern and lumbar suport are exactly what makes the LTD LX seat special since they were only for the LX. I doubt you'll be able to easily find the original patterns. If I were closer I would have definetly grabed a few things from it.
It's like my Edsel cloth pattern... yeah... only one place sells the reproduction cloth for it... and it's expencive.

It was mostly intact. In fact I don't think anything was missing from it. The console was trashed though. If it were in better shape I would have gotten it. The only thing I actually need now is the moulding on the rear passenger quarter panel. The one on the junkyard car was damaged too.
Actually the driver's side of the car must have been in a wreck because along that side the mouldings had all been replaced with 1983 style mouldings that were painted charcoal grey and had a red pinstripe added.
Anyway, I was more in a hurry to find the fuel lines so I didn't get anything from it except the center console light switches.
