Any tips on removing the drivers side seat on an 85 LTD LX? I have been spraying the rearward bolts with WD40, seems hard to get to the front bolts.

I need to do this to enable wellding of the E-brake equalizer pin, which rotted/snapped over on my car.

Any advice appreciated, in taking the passenger seat out of our garage kept 99 Windstar we ended up snapping both forward bolts (only to find Ford no longer supplies them . . . . . )

Zak - You're using the WRONG STUFF!!! WD-40 isn't a penetrating oil. You need something like Liquid Wrench that contains acids that will break down the rust bond between the nut and the bolt. Spread it on liberally and let it soak in for about 24 hours, then try breaking the bolts loose.

Should be pretty straightforward. Two bolts up front, two nuts in rear. But us Californians don't have to worry about that 4-letter word that starts with R and rhymes with "cussed."

I've taken my seats out more times that I'd care to admit. Too many times in fact. I accidentally stripped out one of the front seat bolt holes. Luckily I found that old exhaust manifold bolts also fit and was able to retap the hole.
