There were only 11 sets of those fender flairs made and are on the 9 M81 McLarens and 2 GT Euro's. Maier Racing and some others make fender flairs but not like those. By the way I own the white M81. You can find pictures at this link.

The one that was on ebay recently turned out to be a scam.
Well I'm not 100% sure on exactly what happened.
What it almost looked like is that it may have been a legit auction but after the close a scammer went through the bidders list trying to find a sucker.
I don't remember if the original auction was BS or not....I'm figuring it probably was as people were trying to get to the seller and couldn't

I had been in contact wit the origional owner of M81 #9 (the white one) several years ago and we could not come to terms on it. It sold two more times before the latest owner contacted me. He heard I had been interested in it before and I bought it from him. It has 813 miles on it. All origional.
On the one on e-bay, it is the #8 black one. The auction was legit but the after the auction scam got pretty interesting. The car is still for sale and I have the e-mail address of the guy that has it. He is a Italian that deals in American Cars. By the way he talked the price is in the nieghborhood of $25K. Hope this helps. later

My dad and I looked into buying that kit back in 81 to install on the 79 Mustang that I had at the time. From the dealer, the body kit would have been $2500 including tax... Far higher than the $1200 quoted in the article and more than I paid for the Mustang in the first place. Needless to say, we didn't get it.
By the way, more than 11 kits were made. There were two in the Seattle that I saw. A completed kit was installed on a 79 Pace Car that has a Boss 302 intalled. And a kit was installed on a 80-81 Cobra, but Capri front fenders were used instead. I saw this car in several states of completion through the late 80's but never saw it finished. The intial cost of the kit kept many people from buying it so they are quite rare.

The one I want is the blue one that had been for sale a couple of times in the past few years for around 30k. It is the perfect color and just...perfect for me. Ugh.
Like I'd turn down any of them...HA!
Isn't there a red car that used the kit and isn't an actual M81/Enduro? I could swear I talked to Sandy about that one ages ago.
I'd be happy to find just the complete kit and make one out of a stripped car. That look is just absolutely freakin' stellar.
