quick 85 notch

hey guys im new to this site, but really cool. I just wanted to get some input on the times my car ran at the track . It is an 85 4cy car with a 92 mustang gt running gear. The only mods on the car are 3.73 gears, h pipe and flows, 2500 stall , shift kit in the stock aod and a k&n cone, oh and the TNW nitrous kit. i ran it in Steel Alabama on Oct 14. The car ran a 12.14 @ 110 on Micky Thompson Sportsman Pros. It ran a 7.72 in the 1/8th @88.5 Mph, and cut a 1.62 60ft. I was amazed with this time. What do you guys think. This thing still has the stock weak headers. Need some input. Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the site. It sounds like it's running great, especially since it's an automatic and the limited modifications that have been done on it. Got PICS? We love them here ;) .

were you flashing the converter?and what other mods does your motor have done becouse those are impressive times,all i could get out of mine in the 1/8th was an 8.42 on et-streets leaving at 4000-4500

HOw much are you sprayin it? unless you've got after market heads, you've got a low 14 sec. car on the motor, maybe high 13's if it's a strong stocker. i know for a fact your blowin no less than a 150 shot to it!!! keep that up and the only thing your going to be spraying is for is mosquitoes

Im running 150 pills in it. It runs 13.90's to 14.0's in the 1/4 with an 8.80 to 9.0 in the eighth on the motor. Ive been running this kit for almost a year now, with no problems at all on this motor. You just have to have the fuel right to keep from leaning it out, and make sure you have the right plugs in it. :twisted:

i also seen a block on a stand split right up the middle, he was sprayin 175

yea ive seen them also. I ve read articles that say the stock HO will hold up to 500 horse total before you start craking blocks. My AFR is perfect on 150 according to the gauge, so im not leaning it out to much. The car runs pretty good, but i may up it to 175 to make a record pass for the car. 1.57 60 ft with completely stock suspension with no subframes, or cage, but those two items are next. I dont want to twist the car. I will be posting some pics soon, so you guys can see my toy. Talk at you later.
