Recently put my car back together since I trashed the last engine. New engine is much better than the mostly stock w/bolt-ons setup I had. New combo is listed in the CarDomain page in my sig.

I ran it on the dyno at work on Wednesday. There was a open house & car show at the Roush Museum again with dyno testing in the parking lot.

Here are the dyno results with basically no tuning done yet. I haven't even adjusted the timing other than to get it running. Also don't know what the fuel pressure is set at. So far, I've only turned off the emissions stuff and bumped up the idle using my TwEECer. There should be a few more horses in there as it sits now, but the dyno operator never ran it for a full pull. I'll have to run it again after I finish tuning and see if I can get any more out of it.

I'd like to run it at least once before the track closes this season, but I need to rebuild the rear diff first. I get the ol' one-wheel-peel, even at part throttle. The junky Goodyears that are on it don't help much either. They are in new condition, but they still suck. I have a new set of Roush wheels/BFG G-Force KD tires, but they are too wide for my current rear axle setup. I'd have to go back to Fox length shafts and get new caliper brackets for them to fit. Hey, at least its no longer a garage ornament...or obstruction.

I went to the track with some friends last Wednesday, and finally drove instead of watched! I didn't do as well as I hoped, but didn't do too badly and nothing broke, so I had fun.

Just so I could make it that day, I rebuilt my stock rear end using some extra clutches and 3.27 gears I had laying around. Unfortunately, I already put my 3.73s in my other axle housing with the 31 spline diff that was supposed to be used if I had found the correct length axle shafts in time. I used the old Goodyears with normal air pressure and left the stiff suspension alone, so the traction problems were expected. It rained most of the day right up till we got there, so I didn't expect the track to be in the best condition either. If I left higher than 1500 RPM, it would spin really badly through 1st and 2nd. Leaving below that, it would bog a little then spin then grab in 2nd, which actually got me better 60ft times.

My best of the day was a 13.26 @105.6mph with a 2.09 60ft. I was running 13.33s w/2.3 60ft times pretty consistently, just letting it spin...at least it spins both tires now.

I want to go again this Wednesday, but I don't know if I'll get out of work early enough. This time, I plan to have my Strange struts installed, the front anti-sway bar disconnected and bring some drag radials too. I'll try to leave the portable air compressor/battery jumper, fullsize spare tire and jack, laptop computer, two tool boxes, camera and video camera at home or at least in someone else's car next time, LOL. Maybe pull the passenger seat and go with less than a full tank of gas too. Hopefully that'll get me into the 12s. Wednesday, its supposed to be in the low 70s w/no rain in sight, so should be a good day if I can make it.

Oh yeah, my friend's '03 Stage 3 Roush Mustang (clone) ran 12.6s @~111 all day with 295/18 Nitto drag radials.

Another friend ran 13.8s @~100 in his '02 Mustang GT with just a CAI and Flowmaster cat-back. He was averaging ~2.18 60 ft with his worn set of Goodyears.

Some other guys from work were supposed to go, but chickened out because it was raining.

Nice numbers! You won't need to rip the passenger seat out to get into the 12's. Put 14 psi in the drag radials and launch it at 4,500 rpms. Your 60' times will come way down and you'll be in the 12's. Of course, unloading all of that extra weight will also help. ;) I've seen many cars run 12.60's @ 105. Keep practicing and the times will materialize.

Yep, I definitely need to practice. Been away from the track for a few years. Would've gone today, but I had to work late. Maybe next Wednesday will work out. I think it might be the last week they're open this season.
