14.255 @ 95.09 today at Norwalk in Ohio with a short time of 1.971. Not too bad, with a better suspension setup, better DR's, and a colder day (it was near 80 today), I could 13.9 with it. ;) Not bad for an almost stock, 20 year old car... 8)

Those are good times for that car. I had a brand new 86 in 86 and the best I could get it to go was a 14.9 . if you put some E7s on it with an 87 and up intake it will run real good.

Did you have a track rental today?
There is a nice event out there on Oct 22 (Saturday).
$40, all day test -n- tune.

forgot about the crappy heads/intake on those cars...i was knocking out 14 flats with exhaust on my 88 5.0 on stock tires 8O
get rid of the heads and intake and you will drop that time like a rock

Yeah, a guy I know with an '86 who owns a dyno shop told me with just a head and intake swap (even E7 stuff), I should be hitting mid 13's with it. Now to figure out what else I can do with bolt on's (not nitrous) to get near the 12's... :)

why not? the posi is really easy to rebuild anyways and you can add an extra clutch. Plus with the power you are making, it shouldn't cause a big problem at all... Go for it. The only thing you might want to consider is to get the torque boxes welded....

I hate to say it; but 5 liter Mustang is correct. My former '89 'vert was good for 13.80's at 98mph w\small 26x8" MT drag slicks with the smallest of bolt on's & gear at Palmdale in the heat.... (3.55's, cheapo tubular control arms, no sway bar, power pully's, K&N panel filter, short belt, home ported stock lower intake, 70mm T.B., cat-back, x-pipe, & that was it).

my 88 was good for 14 flats with street tires...also cutting 2.0 60's
all it had was headers, off road h, gutted flowmasters and a steeda tri ax shifter...i was also pissed that it was running like poo and decided to try and break it that time  oh and this was with 3.08s ;)
got it down to 11.90s on the motor but that was a task
