I have an 86 gt that I "de-aeronosed" and I want to run an air dam like a saleen or 82gt style, but I don't want any side skirts or anything else. What does anyone else think about this? I told a friend of mine and got laughed at. :( Thanks.

Well besides the Saleens, they didn't have side skirts to be begin with
The few times i've seen 87-93 LX cars with GT front ends, I liked them better than the GT cars.

I've done this exact thing to my hatch. i have an 86 front bumper cover on it, and i picked up an 82 gt airdam. it took about a day to cut the tabs off the back of the airdam(don't worry, it wasn't a perfect piece to begin with) and get it lined up. used rivets on the ends and two part epoxy around the front. personally i think it lookes awesome. the only thing is, the air dam doesn't wrap completely around to where the fender line is. therefore, i can't just use 82 gt fender extensions, there will be about a one inch gap, so i think i'm going to bend some up out of aluminum. again it'll look good and it will only cost me about $50 to do, with the cost of the dam and the small pieces of aluminum, copare that to what it would cost to buy an original saleen dam(which definately would have been easier, but more expensive) or an aftermarket like xenon or the like.it was more work but right now, unfortunately, i'm a budget builder.

You rivetted into place?! Personally I would not have gone through all that trouble, but now I am also thinking that I have an 19 - 82 hood where if you dont then your hood may not have the holes in the hood suppots. Either way I would rather use the bolts that came with the hood scoop and then tapped and drilled in the hood and mounted the hood scoop.
I have pics located here: http://projects.pywell.com/gallery/v/81mustang/album02/
It has pictures of it, the hood the painting process (before) my camera died about 3 weeks ago so I dont have any updated pics of the perfect high gloss finish that I have done to the scoop... but I soon will.

I had thought about doing this, but sold the 85-86 LX nose and the "wrecked" 82 Gt nose.
