people are telling me that my 1983 C5 tranny is one of my biggest problems it has a lockup converter becuse my car from stop to go when u get on it the RPMs shoot up like 5K in first gear but the speedo only reads 25-35 MPH or so iam thinking gears? but other say tranny also i don't have my kickdown as of yet soo what do u guys thing gears tranny/conv ???

Tranny conversion to a T5 alone will be a big improvement; or a C4 with a good 'verter. Then add gear & hold on.......

the fact that you have no kickdown is a big problem in itself. did you keep the stock v6 rear? it only has 2.73:1 gears in it.

i guess thats what iam trying to figure out soo a kickdown and trans cooler with 3 55's might help for now
