Which would be a better block for a project mustang. My stock 86 Block or an E7TE YYY Block. I have the 86 block still in the car and the E7TE on the stand. I am planning on having the block machined and planning on going with a summit forged piston rebuild kit. I want to end up with around 325-350 hp. Also what would a good head intake cam combination to end up with my desired hp. In the distant future I would also like to supercharge this car. Right now I am just looking for the best block to start with.

The blocks are equal strength, and are probably the same casting # anyways. The E7TE refers to the cylinder head casting used from '87-'95.

If you already have a good block out on a stand, use it, that way you can keep a running car until you are redy for the swap.

The TrickFlow top end kit from Summit should net you an easy 300 at the wheels, 325 shouldn't be far off with some tuning.
