I need to know if 83-89 Radiator Core Support or maybe 1990-93 radiator core support that includes reinforcement panels will work on my 82 Capri? Mine is bent just a little from where the car was wrecked at on time in it life. I just got back from talking to the body shop see about getting it done this winter. Going to have the car blasted and repainted so I just want to do the thing right the first time.

Good questions since none of the auto body distributors list a 79-82 support for a mustang...

There are a bunch of differences, extra holes, etc, but I'm sure it would work.

This summer I put one in my 85 lx.The Ford replacement for 83-89 is different in a few ways. The head light openings are shaped different and the flat upper metal piece that goes from apron to apron is different as far as holes and welded nuts.I think both newer support will work. The only difference in them is that the 90-93 comes with the left and right supports that are attached to the frame rail. These pieces are obsolete and do not come with the 83-89 support.I can email pictures if you want. What I did on my car is take the piece that I call the upper tie bar from my original support and weld it on the the replacement. It was extra work but I got in my head that i wanted the original holes on the top so peaple wouldn't be able to tell easy that I replaced it.
