first time at the track was yesterday, and first off im gonna say im hooked!! 8)

but anyway, the lambo was running 14.3 and 14.2 all day.
my first run was 14.13 @ 96.83, then we adjusted the timing and the carb a little and shot a vid of the next pass, i got down to a 13.66 @ 101.61, and they wouldnt let me run anymore cause i didnt have a helmet LOL.
my car should be quicker if i have better tires, i only revved it up to about 1200 at the line and they still spin and bounced all over the place.

but anyway the lambo ran 12.77 @ 110.88, not even a full second faster than me, i guess he learned how to drive it a little better.

well enjoy :D

so tell ys your combination and what the carb and timmign were set at before yuo adjusted them and tell us what you adjusted them too afterwards to help drop off some E.T. You never know when something simple like that can help someone else learn something.

jegs short block 302
clevite cam (basicly the same as an E-cam)
ported/polished/shaved/bigger valves/springs E-7s
edelbrock RPM intake
holley 600 DP
MSD 6A box, msd dist, blaster coil
bbk shorty equal length headers, bbk x-pipe, 3 chamber flows, 2.5'' tails
high flow oil pump, high flow holley mechanical fuel pump
world class t-5
"king cobra" clutch
aluminum driveshaft
3:73 gears
upper and lower control arms
airbag in passenger rear
subframe connectors
pro 5.0 shifter
Edelbrock nitrous kit (they wouldnt let me use it without a blowdown tube)

we started with 10 degrees timing from when i had gotten the motor up and running (about a month ago)
went down the track and came back then set it at 16
and leaned the carb out a little and that took 5 tenths off. i wanted to go again after lowering the tires and air bag a bit but i couldnt find a helmet.

Yu have a somewhat similar combo to me. I have a B cam however and i have a performer 302 intake. I havea best of 14.99 with a crappy 2.2 60' time. Spinning the tires hard. I am working on those issues and I have done some additional tunning to the carb since then. I liek to tune my carb at teh track and have not had a chance to do so yet. I am curious what size jets you are running. I knwo they won't neccissarily apply to me but I like to compair my self to other people in that aspect. I havea 600 vacume secondary so no rear jets. I am currently using 66 jets on the mains.

Woddy how do yuo have your distributor curved? I was runnign the silver bushing to give me 13* initial and 38* total but i was getting a little pinging in the higher rpms so i droped back to the blue bushing for 34* total. Just curious as to what you are doing since we have somewhat similar combo's. We also only have 91 octaine here in california. So that is a limiting factor for me.

Yeah I raced a guy in a Maybach the other day, that was pretty fun. I got off the freeway and he follows and then I see him just before he flys past me, I drop it down a gear, and catch up then pass him easily. I thought that the thing would be faster, oh well. But, thats my experience with those exotics.

i have 68s in front and 72s in the rear
dont know what the curve is. i just dropped it in and timed it. was at 10 then we bumped it to 16. i always run amoco premium which is 93. and i havnt had any ping problems. sucks about the limits in cali. we have pumps with unleaded 100 octane and leaded 110 right near the track.
