After over a month I finally got my cable service hooked back up and Ican ditch my dial-up internet connection!
It was making my blood pressure go up every time I had to get online. Yey for technology, and my sanity.
That is all.

I did dial-up for years. Finally went to DSL two years ago. When we moved a month ago, we got a cable modem. Broadband kicks ass...except when a power surge during a storm knocks out your modem/wireless router as it did tonight.

If I want fast Internet, I go to work.
I'm still in the stone age using DU at home...at a max connect speed of 21.6k!!! DSL...what's that? We live too far away from the phone building for DSL. We call SBC on a regular basis and all they do is give us the standard BS about always expanding their service areas...probably in the next 9-12 months...blah...blah...blah. It'll never happen.
I'd get the whole cable TV/Internet package thing if we didn't already have satellite TV.
