My rear tranny seal is leaking onto my h pipe and causing it to smoke pretty bad. It only does it if I run the car pretty hard the day before, and it does it untill the pipes get hot enough to burn it all off I guess, but I still need to get it fixed so if anyone has done this can you give me some tips.

If you are ta lking about the "extension housing" seal (which is where the driveshaft slides into the tranny).

I've replaced that seal, it was a pita, they are a VERY tight fit.

Lube up the metal part of the new seal with a bit of tranny fluid, as, any lubricant will help squeeze it in.

What I found was with a larger size socket (1" or so), if you place it over the metal part of the sealan hammer it so it (sorta) goes in evenly it shouldn't be to much trouble.

How I finally got mine in was, hammered a tiny bit of one side in, then had a friend push on that side while I tapped the other..

It's really frusterating when you hammer in one side and go to do the other and the one you just put in, comes out.. Haha...

Anyways, the part itself is only like $5 at any auto parts store...

If you have any questions, just ask.

damnnnnn. i had that same problem. it sux. after my car would warm up the trans fluid would hit exhaust and smoke very badly. i replaced the seal and it still did it. two times. my final fix was the driveshaft. the (slip yoke)- im pretty sure thats the name- where it slides into trans was just so worn that it didnt create a "seal" around the seal. ended up puttin in alum. driveshaft and it cured problem. hope this helps. good luck!
