Hey everyone i'm In Iraq fighting the good ol war,
but while i'm here i've been purchasing goodies for my sexy 85 gt
such as subframe connectors, new cam rooler rockers you all get the idea.
I just want to know .... hopefully i didn't get ripped off,
Are JBH headers good "top of the line' so to say headers?
cause i spent more than I wanted to on the headers, but it is a bI*CTh to find headers for an 85 because of that damn heat riser bracket on the driver side

I hope you and every one of our troops come back safe.
Regarding the JBA's. Yes, They are one of the best... if not THE best out there... just be sure you got the JBA's with the firecone tech.. Corse, they all have the Fire cone tech. JBA is the only company that I know of that makes leagal headers for the 85 Mustang. The usual price for an avarage JBA is around 600+ bux depending of who you get them from.
Good luck!

No doubt, the JBA's are expensive, I've heard many cost over $800.
fyi, just bolt on any 86-95 set of headers, unless you are specifically aiming to keep your current 2-1-2 exhaust setup, just upgrade all of it to 86+ style, and spend less on the headers. I just got my $300 ceramic coated for shorties in, and love them!

Or you can find the JBA's used like I did. I paid 80 bux for a pair off of a early 90's GT. It took me a while to find them though.
But I believe he already said he bought them.
Heres a link to the JBA's on Summit racing for an 85 Mustang...

A little over 400 bux for the standard Ni plated ones.

I though a little over 400$ was pretty steep considering bbk and mac's are considerably less$$
I feel better now that jba 's are top of the line, and they can run upwards of 600$ that made me feel alot better
now I cannot wait to get back and put them in my 85 gt
see what seh sounds/ performs like

I think he wants to keep the heat riser valve & heat stoves for the dual-snorkel air cleaner. I know I would.
Won't the Cali Smogpolizen fail you for not having that stuff?

Yeah... but if you know a place that'll over look the True duals... then oyu have it good. Besides... I don't even think they really know what to look for anymore with these Carb'ed cars.

The registration on your car, is it still registered in MN?
If so, you could look into "collector" registration for it. It may help
with any "pollution control" issues that may come up in the future.
If you remember, the emmisions control was for getting your tabs renewed. Collector plates are non-expiring in MN and therefore, would not be subject to the old testing....that they decided was a joke anyways.
Collector registration is applicable to any car that is 20 years old or older.
Just a thought....

yep i'm from minnesota and all the papers say i'm still a resident,
but since i'm stationed in mississippi
i've got my stang, and probly my 2005 i'm getting registered in ms
not to mention its cheaper.
mississippi is diff on classics
its 25 years for classic plates in ms
but yeah if i mmove back to mn might have to go with classic plates
but just in case i'll be keeping th original headers and the "stove pipe"
riser
by the way to anyone who was under the impression that i still have the 2-1-2 exhaust
well sorry to missenform, but that was gone awile back
i've got true dual all the way back 2-2-2- with a removable H and the flows
