Does anyone know the size of the fittings for the cooler lines on an AOD?

One of my lines is cracked right at the fitting on the case and I was thinking of just replacing it with a pipe fitting of some sort and a piece of high pressure hose between it and the hard line. I don't really want to replace the whole line because it's going to be a PITA with L/T headers and I'll just end up hacking some of it off to reconnect my cooler anyways.

just cut off a tad and take it in and measure it up....best i can do for ya as i'm not sure the size..or buy a couple sizes and return the ones that don't fit...good luck

The line itself is 3/8 I believe. I'm wondering about the fitting on the end that threads into the tranny case.

im not sure but i think it could be 12x1.75 coarse thread- not positive just guessing. i can check for you tommorrow and let u know.

make sure you flare the end of the metal line, and use the fuel injection hose clamps and i wold double those up. If that lien slips off all your tranny fluid will pour out while you are driving causing a tranny with no go. It really sucks when it happens on a freeway. I knwo cause it happened to me in one of my cars. It may be a PITA to change the entire line but is really the best way to do it.

What I'd do is bend a new pipe from the case out to a straight section of the orignal pipe and join them with a compression union.

I may just grab some 3/8 pre flared brake line from the parts store and cut and bend that to fit and then join it to the existing line.

if u still need it, i checked today when i went to work (i was wrong) and those trans line fittings that go into radiator are 1/2x20.
