Has anyone else noticed that the hood to fender bumpers are different on a 79 then they are on later years,, 82 and so on. All the supply houses say they are the same but they are clearly not. I am having a very hard time finding replacements. The best I have found so far is off a 70 Maverick in the boneyard had the same style. 82 has bumpers that slide into a hole and then up a slot in the fender, and my 79 has a push in style that goes into a rectangle hole and is close to impossible to get out. When they dry out and you try to pull them apart the break apart. I have checked on older mustang parts and find the same look, but not the same size, they seem twice as big. Let me know if anyone is able to get replacement pieces. This has been iratating me for quite some time!
