I was curious what actual paint brands / paint codes anyone has used to re-paint the body-side moldings and/or molded portion of the front and rear bumper covers? Seems to me that the pinstripes could be easily redone with vinyl pin-stripe tape. The black portion seems a little bit more difficult?

They have matching color paints, I'm sure...
I know someone on here (I think talorp85) recommended using a dupli-color paint that was an extremly close match.

The dupli-color bumper coating #fb109, is dark charcoal and a very close mach for the 85-86, but I think the 83 is semi-gloss black? If so I have had great results with krylon semi-gloss. Both go onvery smooth and hold up good. Just clean VERY good before painting.

If you are looking for 85-86 charcoal grey coloring, PPG's color code is 33717.

I scuffed all with a grey Scothbrite and cleaned with the mouldings off when I was painting the 84. I then backed with SEM bumper trim paint for mine. It's a semi that holds up really well. I painted all of my trim with this so that it would all match.
The front and rear bumpers were painted b/c with the car. Before I re-attached the bumper covers, I taped off with FineLine, then backed that with masking paper and automotive masking tape. Scuffed with Grey Scothbrite, cleaned, sprayed with same SEM.
