I have a 84 GT CFI car. I really want to run duel's. but as most of you know on the pass side there is what appears to be a fuel pump. is there such a thing as a round muffler? and how good are they? does anyone think there is a easier way to do this?

I can't find it...I think the user was 85Coupe50 but you can remove the external pump and replace the tubing and such and make it work that way. Don't know the details though sorry.

Unless he's swapping to a carb at the same time, that pump has to be kept for the CFI to work. He should be able to move it to a different spot though.

Only thread "I" could find on the subject.
funny thing about that post... one of the guys said that the 84-85 mustangs didn't have dual exhaust. Well, actually 85 did... it just wasn't true dual exhaust. And the late 85 Mustangs with CFI came with the Spudo(sp) dual exhaust.
Also, if you want to go true duals on a CFI car go to the non-mustang chat board and look for LTDScotts post about him converting his 85 LTD LX from a dual pump system to a single pump for his true dual conversion. That thread will give you some needed information.
actually heres the post....

SUPERTRAPPS makes round or cylindrical mufflers i believe. i have a buddy who works for them here in cleveland. he made me a pair of his own "custom" mufflers. they were straight through types with one straight through baffle. these things sounded mean. i probably put those mufflers on 5 different cars. you coul always go with cherry bombs. i personally don't like them but you may. as far as this being easier i don't know. you kinda pick your poison. personally i hate working on exhaust. but it might be easier to put it back to stock if you're just changing the exhaust.

im fine with the two pumps right now. if i relocate the pump, is it going to bess with pressure and all that good stuff?

Did you go to the link I provided regarding LTDScotts conversion? Read his posts in that thread he started and it'll help you out.
He converted to a two pump system (one pump inside the tank and another outside the tank) to a single intank pump.
Read his posts in that tread.
Hell, you may even be able to toss an 86+ Mustang tank in there that has the single pump in the tank.
You also need to relocate your brake line for the rear.

this sounds like more work than its worth...

It's actually worth it. remember... those of us with scottish blood like to do things cheap and easy (well, sometimes easy).
I was thinking of having my LTD LX's tank mod'ed so that the Stang single intank pump system would work. But Scotts idea is good and doesn't cost all that much comaired to having the tank mod'ed (like what I wanted to do).
Plus... his way gives him the room to use standard mufflers and it looks cleaner than relocating a pump. Also, I believe that the way Scott did his conversion, it gives him room to add more HP to his already near 300rwhp (not exactly 300 but close enough for me) LTD LX. LTDScott would be able to conferm this though.
anyways.

yeah the only problem i have with doing this is that i am more than likely selling the car when it gets back from to body shop
