I'm about to step up to a 17x9 rear wheel with a 275/40/ZR17 tire. I am almost 100% sure that I will have to roll the rear wheel lips but I am not sure as to the best method. I was thinking of using a baseball bat but I have never done this. The 5-Lug convert I will be doing includes axles that will retain the stock rear track width. Any suggestions or advice?

Also, I was told that the quad shocks will either have to be put in backwards or removed all together. They're still the stock quads anyways. I was thinking of just tossing them due to the larger footprint. How will this affect rear axle hop and my traction in cornering?

I never had to do anything with the quad shocks with my 275's. You will have to roll the lip though. As far as doing it, I'd be afraid to screw up my car, so I'd take it to a body shop. ;)

There's a special tool made just for rolling the fender lips. Abit pricey at $300 just to use it twice, you could try calling a body shop in your area and get it done for maybe half the price. I've done alot of business with eastwoods, they sell high quality stuff.
