Went down to albany this weekend to hit up the first anual mustang shootout and of course visit mom on mothers day. but before me and pop went to the track i added a line-lock, a one inch spacer, and holley 750DP. I then took some pictures. Enjoy :)

Cool video.

I found that when using slicks its almost mandatory to have a line lock brake. I wasnt able to do the pedal dance and be able to do a proper burnout without it. I kind of took mine to the next level by wiring mine through a relay into the 2nd stage rev limiter of my MSD Digital 6+. When the brake is engauged it switches to a 4500 rpm rev limit. Works pretty sweet.

thats a good idea... never thought about that. i'm about to put my MSD on mine as soon as i can afford the distributor.

this isnt a big block is it.

from what I understand, the purpose of spacers like that is to increase port volume, which increases torque. Also, it helps prevent some heat soaking into the carb.

and that doesn't look like a big block. It looks like a 302..

ive seem sp,e spacers but nothing that drastic. it may help the fuel atomize before it gets to the intake runners to

if its 302 it must be healthy running the 750dp. thats were my big block question came from.

it does look very good.

what are the specs on the mill. ahhhhhh a stroker now im even more curious. :D

was kinda hopen 85 would drop in tell us how fast it is. 8 in the quarter is fast by anyones standerds. thats fast for car thats tubbed and running a narrowed rear end with slicks.

either way it doesnt realy matter. that is one great looking car and fast to

haha not the 1/4. thats low 8's 1/8 mile track. havn't been back on the board in a little while.

thanks for the compliments guys.

the motor is a 347 with RPM heads with three angle valve job being the only mod to them, an RPM intake, comp cam xe274hr .555 .565 lift. 1.6 roller rockers, this is the first time i've had any experience with strokers and that was the first time it's been run since being built.

i put the carb spacer on for pretty much all the reasons that were listed. just in experimental stage right now. doing different things to get better performance, thought the spacer would be a good place to start to see if i could get some better torque. i'm thinking about going to single plane intake next to see if that helps. had different oppinions from different people about the single plane vs. dual plane.

it's a street car before it's a race car and i'm very proud of it in that aspect. i have a little rice burner that is my daily driver but i love driving the 85 so much that i drive it most of the time. and have had no problems at all. well save for the gas prices and the double pumper... i drove it 3 hours from atlanta to albany and then took it to the track and drove it baack up here.

anyway i'm done rambling now

ramble all you want.

i realy like hearing about it.

your rpm heads. are they 190 or 202 vavles. probly the non emission ones im guessing. are you running the rpm airgap manifold. hmmm not sure what else i can think of.

ohhhhhh running 8 in the 1/8 what are you crossing the line at. 85??

thanks for rambling.

they are the 2.02 valves. the car is still registered in albany ga so i don't have to pass emissions. it would fail miserably i'm sure.
it's not the air gap i acctually got the intake right as that one was coming out and i didn't even hear about it.
i was very proud of how it ran. the numbers don't do it justice, it ran really strong. i was coming through the traps at high 80's hit 89.4 one time so i know there is alot of potential. not to mention i slapped the motor in barely did any tuning besides timing and small things then drove it around. the day that i raced i rebuilt the carb, set the floats and went racing. so there should be some unlocked power in there i just have to find it. not to mention i was coming out of the hole like a slug then getting on it after the tires stopped slipping. then had to get out of it a little pulling second so i wouldn't lose the back end. that picture that pocket took is perfect, thats my dad acctually in the yellow stang. he jumped way out in front of me and i caught him at the end of the track going almost 20 mph faster than him. also this was the first time that i used a pro tree and man that thing is fast! i had terrible reaction times.
anyway once again done rambling. glad someone wants to hear i love talking about her. :P

Nice ride! I ran 8'1's @ 87 this past summer while on my way to 12.70-12.80 timeslips @ 107-110. If you're running 89, you'll be in the low 12's and possibly the high 11's. AWESOME!

oooo i was kinda wondering what that would translate to the quarter. i know it's almost impossible to tell but that gives me a good idea. thanks. those are some nice times too. is it a 302?
