am i blind or just dumb as a box of rocks?

i can't for the life of me figure out how to get the passenger side dash trim out(woodgrain w/ vents). are there screws that i'm not seeing. i took the dash pad off didn't see anything, dropped down the glove box (nothing) am i overlooking something? does it just snap in? oh yeah, it's an 80 hatch. thanks guys

Their are little nut's on the back side of the trim peice. Remove the glove box and see if you can bend/sqeez your hand back their to get to them.

I have only removed them with the dash out and am asuming that you can get to them from behind the glove box.

There are two of those nuts, and they are removable in the car. They are either a 5/8" or 11/16" wrench size, but I can't remember.

You can get at them through the glovebox opening or from below the dash but it is a REAL pain in the rear.

I had a replacement panel for mine to match the driver side... for over a year... I couldn't get it out...

Almost decided to break it out... but I'm not sure I could get the new one in either...

Good Luck with it... and if you figure out an easy way... please let me know...

I know you can do it by taking the glove box out, and it is a pain in the ...
but I'm wondering if you can get to the the nuts if you take the dash pad off ??

No chance....unless you make some holes in the top deck of the dash...which would then be covered by the dash pad.

Once I knew they were there, it was never that difficult to undo them with the glove box removed....but I too felt really dumb trying to get that thing off.
