Nitto's have worked well for many friends, but I hear the new M/T is great.

It also depends on your driving habits, climate, and if the car is a DD, weekend cruiser, and how often you hit the strip.

Exactly,,

Ii have had Nitto's and they are a good tire for a daily drive with decent traction at the track. Plus you can get decent milage from them depending on how often you take them to the track. My last set only lasted about 5K miles but they where used hard at the track. (around 30-40 passes) Had a set of 17's a few years back on my 88GT and had 7K on them and had allot of tread left(60%), but only took them to the track about 3 times(10-14 passes).

Now I have the Mickey T drag radial and absoutley love them. They hook no matter where you're at. But I doubt they will make it to 4K even if I don't tkae them to the track often. These jokers are soft when cold....

As for the BFG's I have never tried these. Heard they weren't good in the rain, so I never got any. But heard they hook pretty good.

If you car is a daily drive I say get the Nitto's. But if it is more of a pleasur car get the BFG's and if it is more of a toy then get the (stickey)Mickey's. My car is more of a toy and not daily driven so I run the Mickey's. I drive my car about 2-3K a year. Mainly on nice days and to the track.

FWIW, I don't think any DRs are good in the rain. A few buddies have gotten into wrecks or just crap'ed their pants when they drove around on DRs(mostly Nittos).

M/T ET streets are the best ones I've used. Next would be the BFG's, then the Nittos.

Horse power is whats bad in the rain :(

I could run ET streets in the rain on an Escort and be ok. I could run drag Radials on my GT and kill myself.

I agree I have Nittos on my DD rims and I find them to be a great street tire but thats it. Not that great on the track. i find them to be pretty decent in the rain driving normal

I ran nittos as a daily driver tire for 2 years on my old 99 GT and never had a bit of trouble in the rain until they got extremely bald. Using better judgement plays a much bigger role in avoiding wet weather drama than does the brand of tire.

If you want maximum hook, the M/T is the best. If you want maximum treadwear and street manners the Nitto is the best. The BFG is a fine compromise between these two extremes.

Well I just got some BFG's and I will be putting them to the test soon.

I chose BFG because they in general have a good rep as a tire manufacturer AND they were the 1st ones I found to have drag radials. I am not saying they were the 1st ones, just the 1st ones I knew about.

PLUS they had the size I wanted
