Is this hood valuable or rare at all. I have never seen a hood like this and it looks factory. There's a hole cut in the hood under this bolted on cowl and the hole lip is rolled. I just want to make sure I'm not practically giving away a valuable hood. If it is rare or valuable, I'll just stick it on my 85. Any help would be great!! This car in the pic is not my car, but this is the style of hood that I'm talking baout.
Thanks
Greg

It's an 83 hood with the 83 scoop.
Rare... I dunno about that... but they are deffinetly getting hard to find.

Yup 83 GT hood. the rare part on the hood is the little insert that goes on the back plugging up the open part of the scoop

It was also used on the 84 turbo cars.

Yea 83-84 seems to be the year of this hood. Its missing that peice in the rear of it. I didn't know one was suppose to be there. I thought it was to be left open like a cowl hood. I can't decide whether to put it on my 85 and sell my flat hood or just sell the 83 hood. The 85 will be just a drag car. What do y'all think?
thanks

Well not including the scoop which hood is in better shape? Without the scoop the hoods are the same minus the holes for the scoop now. I'm assuming the 85 hood is already the color of the car so just drill new holes. Get a piece of cardboard and use it as a template and mark the holes all in one shot that way they'll all be in the right place and all you have to do is make sure the cardboard is in the same place it was on the other hood
