Capri @ the Drags 3.5 (continued) **UPDATE**

Well, it's a new year and new gears 8) .

I have been itching to try out the 4.10's down the 1320. April has been test and tune at Thompson Dragraceway, whoops they are under new ownership it's now Thompson Raceway Park.

So far because I have been very busy, and because my wife works every other weekend, and because Mother Nature thought it funny to make this past weekend COLD, RAINY, and SNOWY I didn't get to go this weekend as I had been planning.

I really want to get a baseline with the 4.10's and no other mods to see what has changed. If I wait any longer I am gonna just bypass that desire.

This Wednesday, April 27th starts TRP's Grudge Matches. I really like the Wednesday night meets. It's laid back, you get to make runs. It's fun.

In other news, I have heard many positive rumors that the drag strip in Albion PA Erie County is going to be breaking ground and due to be open in June. For me this is great because it is near my old home town I grew up in and it is only about 20 miles from me. The sad part is it is only 1/8th mile.

I'll be keeping everyone who is intested updated.

I am planning on coming to FFW. I think Grimace5.0 is leaning that way too.

When compared to Norwalk I guess Thompson would be crappy. However they just became NHRA santioned last year and I have never been at a crappy sactioned track. I have been at crappy tracks though...

You laugh, but there are cars at NRP that would easily outrun our cars in the 1/8th. Sad when a kid can run high 7's in the 1/8.... :(

That's all well & good.... At least we have drag strips in every back yard & race 11& 1\2 months outta the year! 8)

I'm slowing down with my "drag thang" now.... All the "budget" mod's to my car have been done... There's nothing I can do for E.T. that won't cost roughly 500-1G for just a couple more tenths. My mind is willing but the wallet is currently saying, "no way!". Even getting my fat azz on a treadmill & eating healthy for months will only be worth a 1\2 tenth at best...;)

i am working my way back to the track but first I must get some slicks. ADN work on my weight trransfer. which is a pair of struts away. As soon as I get the struts i am heading for the track. my best to date is 14.90 @ 93 with a 2.2 60' time. I have never gotten traction with this car yet. I already mentioned the weight transder problem, and I have a clutch that just grabs. So i need to get some struts and slicks like I said. How are yuor heads comming along? I am goign to be picking u pa set soon but I need to make sure if my headers will clear with gt40ps otherwise i will just gte gt40s.

There is a lot more unequal length shorties that fit the GT40P's that people realize. You should be fine.

I have snapped some pics of the E7's and I need to get them up on the 3rd E7 thread. I'll keep you posted.

Heh, heh.... I do know what you mean in regards to the weather. I was dying to get to the track for all of Febuary & into March; but it rained like clock work on every single open track day. What's worse? It never rained as expected for couple of those track days & yet the track was closed in anticipation of it raining!

Well we'll see what we can do. I thought I might either head into work for some OT or finish up the port work on the E7 heads. We do atleast have to get the piston to valve clearance checked. Could you pick up a stanard size can of PlayDoh?

Wish me luck I am planning on hitting Thompson Raceway Park for some 1320 action. Gates open at 2pm racing starts at 7pm

Gates were supposed to open at TRP at 2pm and racing starting at 7pm. I arrived there at 4pm to find that the staging lanes were closing in 4 minutes. Turns out with all the rain / snow we have had this spring that they decided not to start the points program on the 7th and the track opened at noon and racing started at 5pm. :roll:

My best run of the day was on my 2nd time trail.

Didn't make DragFest (had a family re-onion) but I am planning on making Ford vs. GM day tomorrow.

The car is all drag radialed up, has the Lakewood lift bars on it. I shed the smog pump, front sway bar but have not yet got the E7's o n the car.
