what if our capri was a cougar?

I have wondered what would have happened if the cougar would have continued to be a mustang sister in 1974 instead of becoming a tbird twin. I know that the tbird/cougar is on the fox chassis, but i try to imagine what the capri would have looked like if it was a cougar. would we have an eliminator to match the cobra from 79-82? maybe even sequential taillights? what would the front end look like? I doubt it would be the aero front end like the 83-88. any thoughts on this? i know its flameworthy, but i can live with it.

Anyone heard the rumours that Lincoln Mercury is considering doing a new Cougar based on the new Mustang chassis and wants to release it in 2007 as a 40th anniversary model.

There was also a rumour that it would draw heavily on the Messenger concept car.

I hope they do bring the Cougar back but not as fugly as that messenger car.
