Just though I'd share my accomplishemnt and a years worth of time, $$$, and effort. This is the moment I have been waiting for, my 9W is complete once again. This resto has taken the better part of the year. Here is a summary I put together that will be in an album/portfolio I created for the car.

---------------------------------------------------------
Facts:
522,404 – Mustangs built from 1984 to 1986
141,480 – Mustangs built in 1984
9,387 – SVO Mustangs built from 1984 to 1986
4057 – SVO Mustangs built in 1984
1063 – SVO Mustangs painted 9W / Dark Charcoal Metallic

This SVO is 1 of 685 produced in Dark Charcoal Metallic (9W) and Cloth Interior (MA).

Summary:

I purchased this car in 2002 for a mere $900.00 as a daily driver. I wanted something to replace my 86 SVO (later sold), which was far too nice be a driver. When I got the car, everything was painted monochrome white. It barely ran, had not been smogged or registered in years. I was able to limp it home. It had definitely been used & abused and by all means destined for the wrecker till I got a hold of it.

After a few months of work it was back on the road serving daily driver duty. I drove it daily for two years till May of 2004 when an ignorant driver hit me at a left turn yield signal only blocks from my house. The offending driver had no insurance and I used my uninsured motorist to file a claim, which became quite the battle. My compensation was barely enough to cover the bodywork. Three months after the accident it was in the shop. After three months at the shop it was back home in my garage. It took me almost five months to get into the conditions it is presently.

Here is a breakdown of what was done to the car after the accident:

I saw the before pictures that you had at your car at the show of when it was white. Very nice car, good work on saving the car. I didn't know it was your SVO until now.

Ok there are now pics in my album (AT6svo) that chronical the cars build up. The real physical photo album I made for the car that was at the show was much more extensive.

Sorry I wasn't smart enough to figure this out the first time. Doh!

I'd post the picture of the car in the thread but I haven't figure that out yet either. I've tried using the [img] thing but all it does is show the code. I'm not always this clueless... I swear.

Thanks for all your postive comments & for your patience on my posting inefficiencies. It was a heck of alot of work but I'd like to thik it was well worth it. Its as much fun to drive as it is to look at too.

I saw it & it's looking very good there partner. I was hanging with V8Only & 50 Proof at the time. Jeremy was flipping through the picture book wondering if the left rear quarter section he had cut out & sold was utilized on your car. He found out that was not the case; but we did get to see how much body work went into restoring that sucka....

Did you just put SVO emblems on your center caps? I liked that touch. Nice car!

I'd like to thank you all for your kind words. It means alot to me. Even though I did not do the actual body work myself, I did do the tear down, the parts gathering (including the roof and quarter), and the rebuild after paint done which was still alot of work. There were also several upgrades done during all this too (supension, subframe connectors, By Pass Valve etc).

Those of you who got to see in person certainly got to see it in all its glory and I'm glad you got a chance to see it. My goal was to have it done for the FFF show and thank fully I made it.

Yes, I modified 85.5/86 SVO emblems to fit in the center cap. The factory ROH emblem was similar. I removed the ROH plastic centers, cut out a piece of sheetmetal, primered, painted it, used 3M adhesive to attach to the cap then trimmed the emblem to fit the cap.

If it in anyway inspires the rest of you with your rides then I have done my job. :tu:

Thanks again! :D
