it's a shame how a company that practically cornered the market on high performance mass-air meters folded like this.
Bob Atwood was their head engineer and original designer of the pro-m 77mm. He was very good at calibrating the meters. Once he passed away, it was a 1 in 5 shot of getting a properly calibrated meter. EFI tuners became frustrated and had to re-tune the MAF curve in the autologic software adding another variable to the tuning mix.
Now, SCT has their new MAF which is very popular on the newer mustangs. However, it is not calibrated. The calibration must be done in the tuner's software. So while the EEC-IV based cars can use this meter, you will definately need a chip tuning session to even get the car to idle with large injectors.
Gone are the days where you could buy a properly calibrated pro-m 80mm, slap on some 55lb injectors and tune via BTM or locked in advance timing aka the backyard tuner.
it's good for SCT. It's more software to sell to vendors, more chips to sell, etc. They will have the market for high power MAF requirements. I don't consider C&L an option for anything larger than 42lb injectors.
