Took my car out for the first time after winter yesterday and she drove good for almost 2 hours with no signs of overheating, running beautifully

took her out today for about 30 minutes (it was pretty hard driven 30 minutes), got her home, parked and u could hear the antifreeze start boiling, flooded my resovoir tank, and spilled all over the ground. Any ideas other then a thermostat?

oh it's in a 83 Mustang GT with a 351W with stock cooling

thermostat?

Thermostat is the $2 place to start. Do you have something better than the stock temp gauge?

The stock gauges are not very good but to hear the AF boil means it is running hot.

Original radiator? Water pump?

Radiator cap could be bad\ not holding to 16psi pressure as it should. As you may already know; the internal pressure of the radiator reduced the water temps 15-20 degrees. No pressure; run hotter....

I think most radiator cap's manufactured today are junk; I go through one about every 6 months. Granted, I drive my steed daily & put 20,000+ miles on it every year. So i might need to replace 'em a little more often than other's....;)

orignal radiator (i beleive) the water pump looks like it was replaced but when is another question.

my temp gauge isn't working, another problem I've gotta fix

I'll try the radiator cap and thermostat

could it be from air in the system?
