What all is involved in putting a clutch pedal into a car previously equiped with an auto tranny??

What year of car? On a 79 or 80, you can just add the pedal, but on an 81 up car, you'll have to pull the dash and change the bracket that the pedals hang from. The 81 and up cars have the clutch quadrant for the adjustment. I'm not sure if the bracket is different in an 81 and up automatic cars or not, but I believe it is.

Just get a whole new pedal assembly from a donor car at the yards.

Its actually pretty easy. Except for being a contortionist and getting at the bolts under the dash at the firewall.

if you remove the bolts going along the top of the dash below the windshield(dash pad removed) and swing the dash down, it's easier to access the top left nut for the pedal assembly.
I've seen people access the top left nut with the dash completely in tact, I've been able to also but not always. Changing pedal assemblies sucks and requires a lot of patience. good luck.

well, I've got the cars sitting side by side, and frankly this is the part of the whole drivetrain swap, that I dread the most.......fingers crossed, I'm gonna go try it.

A long extension will handle the top left nut just fine from underneath the dash. Did it on both my cars. There is a spot where you get a straight shot at the nut.

sometimes I can find that spot and sometimes I can't. if i get frustrated enough I just say screw it and swing the dash down.

I'd be afraid...thats one more set of screws, nuts, and bolts I gotta keep track.
The deal I've noticed is that the wiring harness under there is in the way, and you have to spread it apart like plants in a jungle.
AND THEN...the stupid socket gets stuck and falls off when you pull it out.

the wiring harness started a small fire......it was put out quickly, but was enough to destroy the wiring.......I figured it would be easier to put all my drivetrain into another car....t-tops even.....and I'll rebuild the 83 as a strip vehicle.

You guys pull the dash out???? I never had to do that, although I'll give a big hell yes to having to be a contortionist!!!!
It's big pain and time consuming, and I'll second the busting of the knuckles, dropping sockets and having 0 room to turn the ratchet, but never had to pull a dash.,
