1985 headers + GT40P (Explorer 97+) heads?

Anyone try out this combination, if so how was spark plug wire clearance, and did you have to go to 90 degree boot type Taylor wires?

wont work, find an earlier motor with gt40 heads, trust me, after pricing headers for gt40p heads i was like F it. a few extra ponies isnt worth it.

I second that, you need P specific heades or BBK or MAC longutbes.

P specifics are very hard to come by used :(

My advice is try them. I have some headers on my 85 capri, not sure if they are MAC or what they are. I also have MAC equal shorts. I will be bringing home a P equipped engine this weekend. I'll get it figured out.

they fit fine you just have to take the headers off to change plugs. alot of bs but some people do it

we had them on mine and my friends saleen it had those heade some motor work and ran like a striped a$$ed ape. but we had to run long tubes and we also went with the h pipe but if you do not have the double hump cross memeber you must get it for it to work. it is worth the money. we didnt have a problem with doing anything with plugs and wires with them till bolted up to the motor.
