Does anybody know what brand of aftermarket steering wheel will fit Mustang that have cruise control buttons?

Buying a NOS steering wheel is out of question due to cost.

Grant makes a kit for some of their wheels. I used to have one on my Capri.

Caprisvo...Nice wheel. Where's cruise control buttons?

Capri50.....it doesn't matter what year, as long it is pre 87, but if you like to know...it is for 86 Mustang.

if you like a stock replacement, these are always on ebay.

This one appears to be in nice condition for a low cost. This is 85-86.

you should post some photos of you 86 in the album when you have a chance.

What year Mustang? I'm dealing with this same problem on my '79 Cobra. I installed a Grant Carbon Fiber steering wheel and installation kit. I could not install a cruise control kit because they do not make one for the '79-'82 Mustangs (they have splined steering shafts.) They do however, make a kit for the '83-up cars. It will not fit on my car because those cars have a "D" shaped steering shaft. Due to this problem, my cruise control isn't hooked up. Under the hood it's hooked up fine. I just need to figure out a way to wire in some buttons.

I did buy one of their cruise control kits for a '79 Ford Van with the splined shaft. It bolted on, but wouldn't allow me to turn the steering wheel, so I sent it back. My button kit looked exactly like the one pictured.

Can anyone point us in the right direction?

I swapped out a 83+ steering column in my 79.

Everything external will bolt over from the 79. No one will ever know but you.

Great! But, did that interfere with your turn signal lever (the one with the infamous horn feature?) Did all the plug in connectors just plug right in or was there wire splicing to do? Let me know! You've fired me up now.

I have an '86 GT complete column. If this is easy to do, I'll do it!

Initially I just reused my 79 hardware. Stripped all the stuff off the newer one, and bolted up the 79 stuff.
After my original the turn signal switch went bad, I bought the later 83?-86 black stalked switches. Bolted them up, and plugged them in.

Everything worked except the horn.

Right now I've got an early turn switch/horn with a black stalk that I modified to work with the horn style turn switch.

79 to I believe 82 had the turn signal/horn combo... and 83 was the first year they didn't have that "feature."

I've owned Fairmonts/Zephyr that have had this feature. And now with my 85 GT I have to get use to NOT hammering the damned turnsignal to honk! I've gotten better... but sometimes I forget.... :)

My dad's 84 ranger had the horn on the stalk too.

my car is an 84. maybe it works differently for me. if i push in on the end slightly towards the column it honks. man that'll catch you off guard. i almost jumped through the roof before.

Maybe but its interesting as in 84 they went to the three spoke "svo" style steering wheel which has the horn button in it.

I wonder if you have an early 84 or Canada was different...weird.
