And dogging me good. Supposed to be a productive day and all. Want to get carpet in, going to paint the dash pad and dash. You know, freshen it up and all.

Everyone says change that heater core now, original and all.

Step one, remove the dash. Sure, easy, if all the screws come out. Maybe half. I hate phillips heads, should be a law, HEX only.

I would have broke it out if I thought that would help. And I had the door off recently where the side screw is stuck, had I checked.

What's a new dash cost?

Any tips? Moral support?

Go and get a rightangle ratched screw driver from Home Depot. Works fricken great!

Thanks Guys. I was having a Bloody Mary when I first posted. Well earned at that.

The dash was replaced once years ago. F'ing theives trying to steal a radio. Maybe they used Locktite or something on the screws. Keep it from rattling loose.

What screws on top :?: There's only 7 or 8 mm bolts holding the top of the dash on... The Dash PAD has screws... those are a breeze with a stubby phillips screwdriver...

Here, read this thread, it may help :) http://www.foureyedpride.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=14973

The phillips head screws back where the windhsield meets the dash....but mine has been out so many times....I have to concede they may have the wrong stuff in there now.

I removed the 5 hex screws that hold the dash to the windshield support. But there are maybe 4 phillips on top that hold the dash to what appears to be the defroster vents. Those are some of the ones that are stuck.

Another is one of the two on the passenger side that you see when the door is open. That one seems rusted in. I have sprayed penetrating oil from the back, but nothing yet.

The last is on the drivers side under the gauge bezel connecting the dash to the heater vent.

I'm going the borrow a friends right angle air ratchet and try that with a phillips bit.

Thanks guys.

All the vents can come out with the dash, only remove what you have to, the vents are a PITA to remove and put back on, and are often forgotten once off. I took all my vents off the first time I pulled my dash and regretted it. Do yourself a favor, don't worry about any screws on the dash and stick to attaching bolts (to the frame ect.) Just my opinion though :)

Thanks. That's what I have been waiting to read. The first time I pulled my dash out I took way too much apart. I was replacing my original that I busted up taking my factory stereo out. I think I need to do it again and want to save myself some head-aches this time. I am not getting power to my brake switch from the fuse panel and it appears I need to remove it to troubleshoot my in dash wiring. I also believe I have another short in there somewhere causing a blown fuse.

A heads up for the other guys removing their dash. There is a good picture in the Parts For Sale section. How timely.
