A few years ago, I remember seeing a blue mustang with a one inch chop, but it was the 87' aeronose,I though it looked pretty slick...I wish I still had the pics...
Does anyone have a Four eyed pride roof chop pic? Or seen one? How does it look? Is it worth doing?
Search and google turned up nothing...

Might be cool, but expensive and hard to do correctly. I'd like to see it too, though

I would like to NOT see that. Lets try and keep these cars original.

Hell, I would love to see that...
To hell with keeping them original... Make them "ORIGINAL" in the fact that people will wonder how much work you've done to make it look/run the way it does, instead of just seeing another Mustang....

An aero nose would make it look like 90% of them on the road...

I think the only "original" part left on my car is the tattered remains of the build sheet.......so yeah I'd kinda like to see a chopped roof.

I saw it, and it definitely was not worth the effort that they put into it. It was done by Kar Kraft, and they have plenty of money.

I'm having a hard time imagining what it would look like.... But I rhink it would look kinda funny.
I've alway's thought that chopping the roof line look's best on older (50's) car's and truck's.
Just my opinion.

Is chopping a top that expensive?

Its not my bag. I dont see how the lowered roofline would look proportionate to the rest of the car's lines..

i uploaded a picture of one that i saw at SDR last year. save for the paint job and that hideous thing he has over the back quarter window and the rims and....ok so it doesn't look that good. lol

it wouldn't look too bad if he kept the rear quarter window a little closer to stock appearance. i guess chopping it wasn't enough, he had to ghettofy it.

It's quite a bit of body work and custom glass for every window in the car.
Might be easier on a notch.. nightmare on a hatch I'd think.
Just imagine.. cut the entire roof off the car.. shorten the windshield pillars. window frames and b pillars.
lengthen the roof and tops of the door frames.
weld it all back together, make it look smooth then get new windows cut to fit.

i think it's worth it on some old school rods but i love the way the mustangs look as is. not worth the hassle imo.

That, and, I think it might look alot better on a Notch, they do appear to have the roof "to high" sometimes to me. I think with a MINOR chop on a notch roof, (say 1/2" or less even), it would be perfect.

Possibly, but considering the amount of work/expense involved, would it be worth it for the barely noticeable change? I dunno.
As others here have noted, and IMHO, chopped roofs were great for the goofy-tall cars of the pre-60s, but rarely works to good effect on modern vehicles.

f4fntm - Yeah, that's true about the goofy-tall 60's cars, but I can't lie, sometimes I look at my coupe and think to myself.
"Something just looks off about the roof height" And like I said the 1/2" or less drop would be perfect IMO.
Also I do keep in mind the amount of work and money that would be required, which would make doing it, not worth it.
If one were skilled enough to do something like that themselves though, it would be cool..... Hmmm... I need a new roof...... 8)

What 60's cars are you talking about .
That blue car has way more then 1/2 to 1" chop, and looks like it was a coupe to start or changed. You probably would not notice 1" chop, and the hard part is the cutting of the Glass. Most Cutters wouldn't garantee that glass wouldn't break while cutting, and if it does its on you to keep buying til they get it right. To chop 1" would be difficult on the glass part and not to much on the roof, just have to tweek the door frames and reattach. And tilt the Pillers back little would give more of rake look in the windshield. still would be a lot of work for only 1". usually go 3"to 6" and some times rake the cut 4" in front and 3" in back.
