opinions needed on painting my 83 vert

I'm getting ready to paint my 83 vert soon the car is going to be chrome yellow. My problem is I haven't decided on wether to paint all the trim yellow like the 93 special addition convertibles were or paint the trim back black like it was on the car in 83. I also have an 82 hood scoop for the car and a salleen wing. any body have any pics of 83-84 yellow verts ?

black. If I paint the car all yellow I was thinking about putting a black stripe above the rocker panels. kind of like the gt 350 cars had. I'm thinking of using the stripes that you can get for the 94-04 mustangs that just say mustang.

Believe me, you'll get a lot more attention if you paint all the trim satin black. This includes window molding, mirrors, headlight buckets, grill, cowl grill, and the beltline molding. I get a lot of nice comments on the Yellow/Black theme. ;) By the way, what color is the convertible top?

I saw in your sig, that you are doing a gt clone, my friend has a Yellow and Black 83 GT that I love. I'll post some pictures of his and you can do what you like. He has Satin Black window trim, and GT Blackout Hood Stripe. But kept the body mouldings yellow. It looks awesome. I'm sure that with a black top your car would look completly bad ass using the same scheme. Give me a few minutes, I'll post them, but I have to resize them first.

that looks great! if you wanted to draw a little attention to the mouldings you could put the little thin 3m stripes on the indention of the trim like they came from the factory.

I can see it now "The Screaming Bee" just kidding! sounds nice with the blacked out stuff , altho I think that yellow needs to be broken up by something striped or somthin' but I have seen 83-86 sans side moulding but all outer corners kept looked interesting too.

If anything it would enhance the look IMO. The forward facing scoop, and a black chin spoiler would be very agressive. I can't wait to see this car now.. It would be my dream 'Vert. I'm partial to coupes and never was for 'Verts but if I had one, I would style it the way you are explaining yours....

I run both the forward scoop and the Mach I chin. Looks nice to me. Good Luck. I thought about removing all my trim and repainting everything flat black. The rest of the stang is gloss black. Just a thought.

As far as what to paint and what to paint, I went through that many times in my head before painting my vert, so here are the pics for comparison. I decide to go the whole way and just paint everything. Sorry it's just the GLX and not the GT with the black hood though.
