does anyone else have these headlight covers, and if so how do you have them attached. i know they are a factory part cause the old lady i got the car from had it since it was new and never would have put anything aftermarket on it...

Whoa!
Factory?
Well, someone around here'll know
I think maybe her grandson put 'em on for her in '86 and she forgot
I can't see the factory legaly putting smoked covers over headlights

well when i got the car they were not on but it appeared that there was some 20 year old velcrow where they were supposed to attach... with the lights on you can see right through them. i really like the way they look but i dont trust velcrow.... cant have them flying off

I agree with you on both points
The Velcro also makes me think they are aftermarket

Stuff like that "USUALLY" isn't factory. Its probably going to be a dealer installed accessory that she bought when she got the car.
Let me go searching through my accessory books and see what I find.

I looked and couldn't find them in my 1985 Ford accessory book. Most of my other accessory books are for Lincoln/Mercury.
Do they have a Ford part number etched or moulded on them anywhere?

The 84/85 Saleens had velcro covers. The GTS went to the snap in. 84 openings are larger than the 85/86 openings.

I don't think 85-86 is different than 83-84, they are listed as being the same anywhere I have seen them listed. GTS stuff seems to fit like crap on four eyed cars, I have a pair for an 84 that won't fit any of the three I've had.

83-84 Ford Mustang - Headlight Cover
PartNo: GT0213
85-86 Ford MustangGT - Headlight Cover
PartNo: GT0215
Believe me they are diff. I was shipped the wrong ones and just thought my front was aftermarket and wrong, I had special brackets made to fill the gap. They broke, I bought a new set, and they fit perfect. Lesson learned.
And they were sold through SVO back then as that's where my first set came from.
As far as reusing yours, either try to re-velcro them, or just buy the new style.
