This is actually for a job I have to do, but is there any trick to mounting a cowl hood on a 87-93 GT? Also how do you remove the OEM hinges? I would like to get this job, but I need to know how to do this first. I also might get one for my coupe so It would be great if you guys could help me out.

Thanks,

Calon

Hey joker I hope you do have a fuse on that power wire running through the fender and into the door jamb. It would be a shame to hit something and pinch that wire. I can see the whole car going up in flames if that happened.

Well, I didn't do this job, so I have no idea about removing them. All I can say though is don't do it unless you have a need. Right now its all fine and dandy for me as the hood is still unpainted, but its all scrached to hell from taking it on and off. I'm assuming you have a fiber hood like I do, otherwise it would really be a pain in the ass.

And to answer flash, I do have that power wire fused, right next to the connection to the battery. As extra precaution I run a low amp fuse, just to make sure it has no chance to fry. Once I get a garage, I'm going to get every body part of the car done right, but as for now, meh.

Just unbolt them from the firewall. There are two bolts on each side/corner. They are clear in PvtJokers post above. The ones holding his mounting plate on.

just like was previously said unbolt the two bolts per hinge and give them a tug...there is a rubber boot in there and sometimes its a little picky coming out of there...or run a little welding on it and put the bolt through the hinge..thats what i did when i went with a pin on hood on my 88
