i dont even think anyone makes headers that small. Sometimes 1 5/8" looks really small on long tubes

well, if its a smog motor 400, then sure, its got no top end to speak of, so why not accentuate the low end grunt.
That being said, thats still small, but you have to figure that 400 MIGHT make 150hp at the wheels and around 260ft-lbs of torque....

If its a Wyoming original, I'd bet its Olds. All the high Altitude/California cars got Olds 403s

Not sure, it has a shaker on it, and I think it's a poncho 400. In any event, this is the same kid who thought his early 90s grand prix could outpull a late 90s silverado

My book says 77 '400 should be 170hp/305tq 2V
185/310 4V

If the decals are intact on the on the hood scoop it can tell you what engine is installed (if the engine and hood scoop are orginal as well) If it says "6.6 Litre", then it is the Olds 400. If it says "6.6 T/A" then it is the Pontiac 400.
I wanted a Trans Am really bad when 'Smokey and the Bandit' came out. They were the hot pony car to have at the time... screaming hood chicken and all
