What To Do First?

I'm trying to figure out what I need to do first. I have the interior completely gutted right now. I've just reconditioned the dash and reinstalled it. I either go ahead and buy new carpet and start putting the interior back together now, or I do something with paint first. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and cut in the door jams now or just proceed with the interior and let the body shop worry about the paint later.
Is it a problem to go ahead with the interior? That's what I prefer to do.

It really depends on how good of a paint job, rust protection, etc you want. Not too be an azz; but you already understand what is the "right way to do it" & what is "the half azz way"..... It's all on you there buddy.

if you have the ability, paint the car first! the worst thing that can happen is to have a new interrior and have someone leave a vent open or a window cracked....
