Hi all, new to the site. I wrecked My Capri (stupid Iowa Winters) I would like to fix it. The tree pushed the drivers side front back, and over. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the front end measurements to straighten out the front clip on my car. I really like my Capri it's a 2.3 the gets about 28 mpg and it's only got 124k miles on it. any help would be greatly appreciated.

well, i'm sorry to hear about ur fox....it is best left to a pro, because everything measured on a car is in centimeters and millimeters and is referenced off of one of the holes in the lower rear control arms....u need a frame machine to set up ur measuring points...sorry man

The 1980 Ford Factory shop manuals have frame dimensions shown. I have crash sheets that show engine bay dimensions. As for pulling it, I totally agree, you must have a pro do it. I am trained in frame pulling (i am taking a degree in college for collision repair) and I am working on a 1986 SVO currently that an instructor owns. Those old unibodies are difficult to pull because of thicker metal, rust, poor spot welds, and heavy duty reinforcment. If you have a local shop, take it to them.

Oh, if you do need crash dimensions, I can take pics of my books and post them in my album i think. Also, you are a fellow 2.3l guy so let me know if you ever need any mechanical help too.

I would agree, at least get it straightened at a shop. Its not really a machine, rather a contraption that has a ton of measuring points and rods that when lined up go in the holes to show that its right.
If you smucked your frame up, your going to need a special puller to pull it back into shape aswell. Seen it done many times at my shop and its not an easy thing too do.
