It finaly went in to get fixed (my dad didnt want the headgaskets fix in our garage) and upon pulling the heads off both were cracked. 8O one was really bad. I thoughy it was a bad headgasket. What usually causes this?
Good thing i had a set of e7 heads for it :D

Usually overheating, detonation or a very lean condition. Or a combination there of. Usually around the exhaust ports.

I tried explaining to the previous owner that he may have had a cracked head but he wouldnt listen to anyone. He also rhought it ran bad because of the EFI and wanted to put a carb on it.

Ha! That reminds me......
The guy I built the '86 motor for his '66 Falcon...
....Always blames the carb, one of about 500 that I have built over the last twenty years mind you, for anything that does not perform properly on his car!
It runs rough? It's that f'in carb!
The heater stopped working? It's that f'in carb!
Tire goes flat? You can guess the what he said....

kylesounds like something he would say
when i first started messing with cars i would blame the carb for a lot, since it was the mysterious part i didnnt understand, luckily i got out of that habit pretty quick. i then developed the habit of always blaming the ignition, which for the most part is the culprit about 90% of the time.
