I bought the DVD. I found it in WalMart's $5 bin. Mildly entertaining. The Car was some Chrysler product.

Dodge Interceptor Concept, 2.2L DOHC Twin Turbo.
Spent most of its life as a Pace car.

I remember that movie from when it was on HBO or Cinemax several times a week for quite some time. I guess I'll have to go and find it at Wally World.

Wasn't that the movie involving a guy whom died, returns from the dead wreaking havoc by driving some kind of indestructable car through buildings that blow to smitherines?

My favorite part is when they are discussing how the blown vette could barely out run the Daytona turbo Z.

That movie started my addiction to the fwd turbo dodge's.

I SO WANT a 87 shelby charger with the turbo 2 motor/tran's.

I liked that movie and I will have to see if it is in the 5.50 bin.

Another one of my favorite movies is Hot Rod, aka Rebel of the Road. I found it on DVD over eBay.

Oh there is a couple more I am looking for....

Heart Like a Wheel

Fastlane Fever

Just to name 2.

that was some awesome acting. This was some of Randy Quad's best work, with best supporting actors Gutterboy and Skank.

I've built numerous TD cars. My favorite second to Mustangs!! I've got a '90 ES Turbo Daytona sitting at my house right now with a MP big valve head, Enforcer 3 cam, and some other mods. I had it down to 11.98 1/4 at one point, but sold it to mom to get a Supra. I got it back, but it's nowhere near as fast(took most of the good stuff off before sale).

Nah, they dont' show those movies on HBO.

And if you didn't notice people, this movie clearly was backed by Chrysler since 90% of the cop cars are Dodges...most being turbo.

LOVED this movie. You can actually buy Wraith kit cars. Most of the engine was very similar to the turbo Daytona if memory serves me correct. It was a damn fast car for sure.

I'd do just about anything to get a set of those wheels on my coupe.....i LOVE that wheel style, and those deep dish in the back are badass!

Where from. Last I heard you could, but the website I have, has yet to be updated and the last Turbododge.com thread I read said the same. In fact the site I posted the guy was also working on seeing if they could make reproduction kit cars from his.

Sportrods

There is currently no company offering a kit version, but there are a few companies working on kit cars that should be ready in the next couple of years. Also, the engine was a 2.2l 4cylinder, with a DOHC Cosworth head, and twin turbo. aside from the bottom end, the engine shares no other similarities to the production 2.2/2.5 turbo offerings.

My next project/daily drive will be a early TD. I really want a older daytona or shelby but I think I would be happier with a turbo 2 set up.

We are buying a house 50 mile's out side of town and I want a fun quick front drive daily driver.

I may even look for a plymouth laser. Take all of the badge's off and screw with everyone on the highway.

There's a Shelby TD at the junkyard we go to with a clean title $850 is on the car but I know the guy will take less. Car was repainted but has t-tops, black interior and is otherwise mint. If I had the cash I'd pick it up.

Daytonas were available with the TII. The 87-88 Shelby Z cars were all TII, and the 89 was available in TI or TII. If it's intercooled, it's TII(in those years factory).

About those kit cars....i honestly don't know where you can find one...the last time i heard about the Wraith it was from a kit car site but i dont have the link.

If i had tons of money and could have any car, i'd probably buy a Daytona and convert it to RWD...i love the body styling of those cars.

That is one of my FAVORITE MOVIES!!! Awesome! I'd kill to find that in the 5 dollar bin at Walmart. How long ago did you find it? I'm heading there today- LOL!

I didn't know they made kits for that car - cool! I bet a buddy of mine who's built a few kit cars in his time could find out.
