View Full Version : Body kit sure, but what is it?
Hello, I'm Matt just reg'ed today I'm looking for informatiion on our car. I bought it late last summer.
It's a 81 mustang, and managed to track some of the info down through the good'ol boy network - but some still remains unknown such as what company the body kit is from and whats missing (ie holes for gfx but no parts)
I did search through the forums here, and come up short. It's not the dominator kit, close as I can find is this

I dont know when the car was first put together with the body kit, could be 10 years ago. I do know I first saw it about 4 years ago around town and have tracked it down to about 6 years ago when it was traded it at the local "dirt old doggy grinding engine" dealer. The dealer is no defunct do to eerr... enron style book keeping.
Any leads would be great, I'll upload pics soon chargign the batteries now,
EDIT
Pics in my personal, added to forum album as well by mistake

Many years ago I remember seeing flared fenders in the Ford Motorsport catalog. I think they were fiberglass and you had to attach them to the stock sheet metal.
One of the passenger side of the car real quick and dirty - just to fill the gap till I can clear the snow and roll her out for some good ones - its in my album and unfortunatley on the main album too. eek lol
Sheet in the front is history, just the fenderwells are left. The rear iirc, is history as well. - I'll have to pull the pannels off again to make sure

someone posted a mustang on stangnet that had the maier kit. it looked AWESOME! not much was known about the car. however from what i could tell, it was a pure road racing car. looked like 18x10 or 11 fiske rims on 355's tucked in the rear. and it was super charged.
oh i forgot to mention, the pictures were from a road racing event, and it was corvette day. blown vettes in their best environment, and guess what 20 year old car handed their asses to them :D all the guy that took the pics said was the mustang raped all the vettes. hahahahahah
i will have those on my 86, but not for a while.
Sunday a friend is comming over to help me situate the car for pics.
going for front end with hood, left side/right. and rear (gata mock up the capri lights that came with again)
No int pics because theres no interior to take pics of. :) - well there is but its stowed away in the garage.
They will be in my album and I'll put one on the main album as well.

Those have got to be Maier flares with a Xenon air dam and some twin turbo hood of unknown origin. What a score to get a car with that stuff already on it! My love of 80s style wheels makes me like that car just as it is...it's period correct for a modded car. I dig it.

Yeah thats the infamous Twin Turbo Ram Air hood that you could find on anything between 1982 to 1993.
I realy like the 80's - early 90's cars my self.
The stangs, camaros and countach of the day are my favorite.
We (wife and I) are learning alot about this car and the more we lean the more we love it. Its accualy her car but I say we because Its growing on me, too. man I cant wait untill its done.

Man, I'd love to get those fenders, one day I will have a real job, and hopefully the wife will too. 1k for those fenders and quarters today. +/-
If ya want them, they will come.
all in good time :)
I dumped my pet projects to afford the car, so it wasnt easy for me.
Sscrap one 1/2 ton shot box with 37" boggers etc and a samurai with 34's. (had a 4.3lL chevy ready for it etc etc.
At first I wasnt to happy but I made a promis that I would buy her the car and I kept it, now after driving it and getting the information from here I say I made the right choice.
