to stripe, or not to?

my gt is a 85 light regatta blue.....
i notice some of these cars from 85 had the matte black gt hood decal, i have no idea if mine had one originally or not, i'm thinking it didn't..... i'm going to have the car repainted, should i put on on?
I honestly don't think that that decal looks very good on the lt blue cars, but black with the gray ones that s a whole other story!

I think it only looks good on a few colors and light blue is not one of them. Black or gray does not go with blue. Red, white and gray cars look great with it.

I removed the decal from my black hood. Within an hour of owning the car.

Leave it off especially if it was ordered with the stripe delete.

My 86 GT was ordered with the stripe delete and the two tone. I like it because it's a little different and it was ordered that way.

I think the stripe delete was only available in '86, in '85 all the GTs had the hood decal from what I understand. I think the decal looks great, but it's your car, and it probably would look cleaner without it if you choose to go that way. I myself would put it on

i agree. The first really nice four-eye I ever saw was at '04 Carislile, and it was a red '85 GT. I love that car!

I have also heard that it was only in 86 but I'm not 100% sure.

I have the build sheet for my car and you can see where it was ordered without the stripe and with the two tone.

Maybe one of our resto goober's will enlighten us on this.
