Unfortunately, it is not too terribly far away from me...but I haven't any room.

Make room!
How could you not buy this?
I've seen multiple Black Magics on ebay in the last year, I pulled parts of an actual Crimson Cat this past summer (missing front end from the shock towers forward). About 1 1/2 years ago I saw a completly stripped White Magic in a wrecking yard, but I have never seen a "Fairmont Durango"!!!
Didn't even know they existed!
I'd buy it if I had any money. There's that pesky money thing biting me in the ass again!

There was a super clean Durango at the Fabulous Fords Forever show last year (or was it the year before?).
I was amazed to see one, but then again you can see a lot of unusual stuff at that show.

that is really cool. I wouldn't mind having one of those for my collection. I've never even seen one before.

I've never seen one of those. It just needs a good clean up and some nice wheels. Man, it's extremely tempting but my wife already hates my Ranger and isn't exactly fond of my Mustang, so there's no way she'd go for that.

Something strange is going on with that car. Notice how the front and rear liscense plates don't match?

Somebody is going to have to do some digging but the Durango was featured in Collectible Automobile if you want more info. It was in the back of the mag, maybe the Cheap Wheels or Future Collectibles or Trucks column, I'm not exactly sure and I can't find my issue of it yet.

In AZ, the rear plates are the only ones that matter. Fronts are not required, and you'll see plates of different states on the front and no one cares. The back plate looks recent and would be the basis of the registration of the vehicle. The one on the front just looks like an old AZ plate. Not really a big issue here.

Yeah the front plate is the old style AZ plate. The owner probably just kept his old ones.

How many of those were made? It is different to say the least.

About 200 of them and most in brown with 6cil. engine.
These ARE rare and the car on Ebay might be your only chance to ever own an original. They were Fairmont Futura's/Merc Zephyr's that were adapted by National Coach Products.
If I lived in the US, I would have made an offer!
But I'm not...

I just passed a used car dealership a week ago in my hometown and saw one of these on the lot. I called but it was sold. Was the dealershop owner's car with 60K original and super clean! Shoot! I left the dealer owner a message to see if they will pass my name on to the buyer so that if/when they decide to sell i can buy it. I love the weird and rare and this would be great. It reminds me of a for sale listing in I think the old fast fords magazine where someone converted like a 89 LX 5.0. It was super low miles and sold for $12K.
