need electrical system help

im wiring my 81 myself and need to find a wiring diagram that shows me the gauge of wire to us. i dont want to buy a wiring harnes i like to do evey thing myself can some one help me out. thanks

i would say anywhere from 12-16 even bigger possibly for the charging system and ignition hot's. u might want to check out another car to see what sizes they had from the factory tho, just to be sure...also, are u soldering ur connections or crimping them? i did about the same thing ur doing on my old camaro i don't have anymore, but i used the painless wiring harness and for the most part was easy, but time consuming trying to route all the wires right where i wanted them....good luck
