What do I have to do to get the passenger side brake line from the sn95 caliper to adapt to the hard line on the 85 GT? The hardline has a larger thread than the sn95 flex line end and will not thread in. I assume that it can be adapted but I'd like to know what you all did. If I need an adapter please let me know where you got it and /or what the thread sizes are.

Thanks

I have this same bit of information...

"If you are getting the parts from a wrecker in a complete assembly (as I did) then make sure that they include the Banjo Bolt that attaches the flexible brake line to the caliper. This will allow you to connect your existing brake lines to the SN95 caliper since the threads are different and the Fox Banjo Bolt will not thread into the SN95 caliper"

Therein lies the problem. I have the banjo bolt/flex line from the sn95 caliper and it does not fit with the hardlines in my 85GT on the passenger side. I stated this in my original post.

If i am not mistaken i ordered a 1990 brakeline for mine, and it fit the 85 hardline and the banjo fit the 95 caliper....i went the SN-95 route on my conversion so i could run the Cobra wheels. 8)

On my 86gt my first setup was with 95gt fronts. I just went to my local speed shop and took my caliper and picked up a straight fitting for the caliper and stainless braided line. The hardline fitting I went to AFCO and ordered it the same for both sides. I'll see if I can find the part number.

Do a WWW search for matt90gt website. A lot of good info and it may list an adapter number there also.

wildman_302- I'll check into the '90 brake line. I'm putting the "Bullitt" wheels on mine.

MJ86GT-are the fittings on the stock hardlines on both sides of your car the same? Mine is slightly larger on the passenger side.

Once you get those bullitts on there, post up pics. I'm considering the same wheels. Thanks!

idiots85- congratulations, you are my new best friend for the day. Make the most of it because you only have 4 hours left. Seriously though, thanks for the info. That adapter works perfectly.

For the record- Weatherhead is a brand name. I did a google search for weatherhead fittings and found the part #'s / thread sizes or the fittings. I'd bet the same fittings are avaliable at someplace like Lowes.

I'm glad it worked. I guess I'm not an idiot afterall! :D

There are few things I can help with on here, I'm the type that asks questions rather gives answers.

I'm giddy that I could provide a correct answer to a problem on here.

I just want to add that you will definately want to upgrade to the 86 Lincoln Master Cylinder. I just went with the Mark VII 1 1/8" bore MC. The stock MC makes the brakes feel spongy.

Pics of the Bullitt wheels on the car to come soon...
