Anyone done it? I think they would look absolutely wikked! I was curious if i grab some ranger rotors, axles, and drums if i could fit the mach 1 rims until i finish piecing together a brake upgrade for 4 wheel disc. Think they'll fit? For the brake conversion i was planning on using the ranger axles anyway, so i will just need to grab some front 94-95 spindles/rotors and mark VII calipers for the rear. This way though i could go ahead and run the rims sooner and do the brake upgrade when i have the money and time. I would be using the factory 17X8 mach 1 rims.

I used to have a pic of a grey coupe with them on.....they look increditble compared to being on the actual Mach1....Seems like all the newer wheel styles look even better on the older cars. The aftermarket versions of the Mach wheels are even better looking if you get them in deep dish and with the spinners.

I've been waiting a long time for someone to post pictures of a fox with Mach 1 Magnums and I still haven't seen it. Why dont you be the first :P IMO they are the nicest looking rims Ford has put out for the sn-95's. Well, those and Bullitts.

well, i might just be the first then :D. I have to find myself some ranger axles and drums for the rear, ranger rotors for the front. That should let me run the rims until i decide to do my brake upgrades yes? I hope so anyway. I'm dying to see what they'll look like on my ride. I was planning on the OE 17X8 wheels. 17X9 would be nice but i havn't seen them. I've seen them in 18X9 but i'm not interested in running an 18" rim.

won't work in the front buddy-- the dust cap protrudes too far!!

And in the rear -- give those wheels a chance, get them some offset!!!

the center of the mach 1 rim is not recessed the way the cobra r's are. Are you sure this is going to be a problem on the front? And what is it you think i should do for the rear? sn95 axles to widen the track? I want to use the OE mach 1's so the offset is going to be what it is, i havn't much choice there.

You guys want "REAL" MACh 1 "vintage" rims - THESE are the ones to get:

http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com/products/product_art/mach_cobra1.jpg

Those are made/produced by a company called "Wheel Vintiques". That size I believe is the 18x9... Those are THE BEST looking reproduction MACH 1 Magnum 500 wheels available on the market today.

Their websie for inquiry:
http://www.wheelvintiques.com/wheels/rallye.html

I just don't like the Ford MACH 1 OEM wheels - they are too flat and too far "forward" of a design for me.. practicaly no dish and they do not really resembl the original Magnum 500's... NOW, the Wheel Vintique's reproduction MACH 1 wheels are just killer... absolutely beautiful wheels.

mmmm I like those. I like the Mach 1 Magnum 500's though also... It's a tough choice.

Somebody that went to a show this summer posted some pics, one of which was an orange and black fox body mustang that was done up like one of the new Mach Is. It had those rims and looked pretty good. I can't remember the thread and couldn't find it, but I think I save the picture on my PC. I'll try to find it on Saturday.

freakos302, THAT'S what i want! :D. I like those vintage repro's but IMO 18X9 is just too much rim for a fox. Looks good on an sn95 but i don't think i would like it on my 83. now, from this

http://mjbobbitt.home.comcast.net/mustang/5lug.html

He mentions for 79-86 front rotors to use the ranger rotors, for 87-93 use the lincoln rotors. Then he goes on to talk about the larger dust cap for the lincoln/svo rotor and fitment problems with some of the wheels. He never mentions problems with the ranger rotors and fitment issues. I guess at this point the only way to find out is to get the wheels. Those are the wheels i'm going to run and i will make them fit somehow. I'm going five lug mostly for the wheel choice but also for the brake upgrade. I will be doing the brake upgrade later though. Probably at that point i will just use sn95 spindles/rotors for the front. So if i have to do that sooner in order to make the wheels fit then that's what i'll do.

:D.

I finally dug through my archived photos also and found the one I was thinking of. Apologies to the car owner and the photo taker for swiping the picture. Let me know if it's a problem.

Although not a 4-eye, it's a FOX. I really like the way the Mach I theme was fully executed. It definately falls uner the category of "if FORD had built it it should have looked like this"!
